Learn to thread and operate a sewing machine, then create a simple project. Machines are also available for in-branch use.

Join us as we make fabric tissue pockets. 

This programme is designed for adult sewers, who may be either beginners or experienced. 

Please bring your own fabric (please see below for materials list). 

We will cut the fabric at the class.

If you can bring your own sewing machine, more people can register for the class.  Machines provided at the programme will be shared, but personal machines will only be used by their owners. 

Materials List

  • Scissors/rotary cutters (if you have)
    You will need two pieces of cotton fabric that complement each other. 
    Main fabric – 5.5” x 6.5” (14 cm x 16.5 cm)
  • Secondary fabric – 5.5” x 7.5” (14 cm x 19 cm)

        You will cut the fabric in class.

Thread will be provided.

Fergus Branch is located in downtown Fergus by Templin Gardens. This historic Carnegie building features three floors and houses Library Administration, as well as a rentable meeting room, Wi-Fi, and computer access.
