Nine Patch Snowball Quilt
Approximate size 45” x 63” (without borders)
Fabrics: Use 2 fabrics that are 100% cotton. One fabric should be a light plain coloured fabric (larger background blocks) and the other fabric should be darker and patterned/multicouloured (9 patch and snowball corners). For best results make sure that there is a lot of contrast between the two fabrics. These two fabrics can be switched with the larger blocks being dark and the lighter blocks of the 9 patches and snowball corners being light patterned. Just make sure that there is good contrast between the two.
Material:
Large snowball blocks and 9 patches: 2.5 yds (light colour, no pattern or tone on tone)
9 patch and snowball corners : 1.5 yds (dark coloured, patterned)
Borders: Can be added to make your blocks float or increase quilt size. 3” border add ½ yd of snowball /large block fabric.
Batting and Backing: to be purchased when quilt top is done
Thread: good quality and coordinating/blending colour
