Learn to thread and operate a sewing machine, then create a simple project. Machines are also available for in-branch use.

Join us as we make a Heating Pack.

This programme is designed for adult, beginner and experienced, sewers. Please see the materials list below.

If you can bring your own sewing machine, more people can register for the class. Machines provided at the programme will be shared, but personal machines will only be used by their owners. 

You will need: 

  • Fabric – two pieces of 100% cotton (important that it is 100% cotton, NOT a polyester blend) large enough to cut a 6.5” x 25” rectangle from each
  • Scissors/rotary cutters (if you have)

We will cut the fabric at the class.

White cotton thread and rice will be provided.

About the branch

Fergus Branch is located in downtown Fergus by Templin Gardens. This historic Carnegie building features three floors and houses Library Administration, as well as a rentable meeting room, Wi-Fi, and computer access.
